Government Area of Imo State, Prince Obi Morgan Uwandu (Agunechemba) celebrated his birthday in style.
The event which attracted personalities in Imo State and beyond, also featured warming of his Palacio, a new house built by the celebrant.
A roll call of dignitaries at the event showed the presence of business mogul and former state chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Prince Marcelenus Nlemigbo (Marcon), the member for Mbaitoli state constituency in the Imo House of Assembly, Hon Innocent Ikpamezie, HRH Eze Mike Ama of Amaukwu Orodo; ex-Chief Whip of Imo Assembly, Rt Hon Nkem Nwankwo; ex-chairman, Mbaitoli LGA, Chief Rufus Osueke(Ruxto Motors), Dr Emma Ugwuegbulam (Emmankirishi), ex-chairman of Owerri West LGA, Bar Bethel Nzimako, and ex-Imo Commissioner, Barr Kingsley Onunuju.
Others include, Prince Osy Eronini, Dr I.B Okafor (Agbakwutenze), Sir Victor Oke, Chief Iyke Anyiam, Dr Ifeanyi Odor, Chief Hope Oparaugo, Chuef B.C Onukwugha, Iyke Onwukwe, Dangote of Ogwa, Chief Chris Agomuo, George Obinna Asi (TPM), among many others.
The chairman of occasion and member for Mbaitoli in the Imo House of Assembly, Hon Ikpamezie thanked God for his numerous blessing on the celebrant, Prince Uwandu. He noted that Prince Uwandu remained a successful man who has taste, and prayed God to add many more years to his life.
Also speakng, Chief Nlemigbo said the celebrant’s father Late Morgan Uwandu, was his mentor in those days, who thought them how to succeed in business.
While praying God to grant Prince Uwandu long live to enjoy his new house, Prince Nlemigbo disclosed that he learnt much from the celebrant’s father, and urged him to continue to fly the flag of his father.
Presenting a biography of Prince Uwandu, his brother Chief Sir J.C Uwandu disclosed that Prince Obioha Morgan Uwandu was born in 1956 in Aba into Uwandu Royal Family of Idem, Umunneato Ishi Ogwa, now in Mbaitoli LGA. His father, late Morgan Uwandu was a frozen foods dealer.
According to him, Prince Uwandu attended St James Primary School, Ihitte Afoukwu in Ekwereazu Mbaise in 1970; Pater Nosta Secondary School, Ekwereazu, and finished at Emmanuel College, Owerri, in 1976; He proceeded to the Imo State University where he obtained a Bachelors degree in Government and Public Administration (GPD), and PhD from the USA, among others.
He is the CEO, Morgan Industries Ltd, He expanded and diversified in business even as his business activities spanned across European countries such as Spain, Sweden, London, Italy, Denmark, USA, among others.
Prince Uwandu is: Member Owerri Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture,
OCIMA; Ex-chairman, National Council for Proprietors of Private Schools in Nigeria, Imo State Chapter; CEO, Ugo Morgan Computer Training Centre, Owerri, (Government Approved), among others.
A philanthropist, Prince Uwandu holds the title of Agunechemba 1 of Umunneato Ishi-Ogwa Autonomous Community conferred on him by the late Eze Barr D.N Uwandu, the Ezeudo 1 of Umunneato Ishi Ogwa Autonomous Community, Mbaitoli LGA. He is blessed with a son who is also a lawyer.
